In Truth

A wearable that tracks stress. I designed its app, brand and AI assistant to tell you you're stressed without stressing you more.

The AI assistant, calm and stressed.

The problem

Health apps usually flag stress in warning red. For someone who is already stressed, an alarm makes it worse.

What I did

Built a calm visual system around two colours, one for stressed and one for calm, and carried it through the app, the charts and the AI assistant.

Result

3 platforms

phone, desktop and wearable, designed from one system.

01

No red alarms.

The app shows stress in warm orange and calm in teal. Never warning red.

Recovery gets its own state: a gradient from orange back to teal. Bouncing back quickly is a sign of resilience, so that is the moment the app celebrates.

02

One face for the AI assistant.

An animated orb, like Siri's, represents the assistant in chat, in voice and on desktop. It shows when it's listening, thinking and speaking, and it changes shape when you're stressed.

It tells you which data it used, like your calendar or heart rate variability, and asks before it acts.

What didn't work

Three directions were cut first.

A particle effect, a stardust field and a Zen brush circle were each built and reviewed.

All three looked good. None showed calm or stressed at a glance, so the orb won.
